HELP US TO ORANGE OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD!
This year Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid Ltd is taking action as part of the 16 Days of Activism, which is a United Nations Campaign to End Violence Against Women. The aim is to raise awareness of Gender Based Violence and Abuse and runs between 25th November (International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women) and 10th December (Human Rights Day).
This year the call to action is to ‘ORANGE THE WORLD!’. This was a successful worldwide campaign in 2015 and the following links demonstrate how countries from all over the world joined in last year:
On 9th December 2016 at 12 noon, we are holding a local balloon tie at The Farr Centre to ORANGE OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD and aim to tie around The Farr Centre one orange balloon for every woman and child we have supported over the last year.
That amounts to 2453 balloons turning The Farr Centre ORANGE for the day!
To do this we need your help.
We need people to make this a success. We need people to assist with blowing up balloons and tying them around the outside of the centre. Are you able to volunteer members of staff for a couple of hours on the day? Can you help us to advertise and spread the word about this event across the county? Donations of balloons are welcome too! Anyone who assists us to make this a success will be acknowledged publically on the day, on our website, social media outlets and in our annual report.
If you are able to help us to ORANGE OUR NEIGHBOURHOOD please contact Lorraine Batty at The Farr Centre on 01909 533610 or email email@example.com
Your assistance will mean a lot to us, no matter how small, and will help us to raise awareness of Gender-Based Violence and Abuse.
It is our hope that one day there will be an end to violence against women.
We also have other activities planned during the 16 Days of Activism. Please follow us on if you wish to know more or would like to join us in taking action to End Violence Against Women.
