COVID-19 Update

NWAL wanted to reach out to you and let you know what NWAL are doing in this ever-changing time.

NWAL ethos remains strong in this climate, ensuring that survivors of domestic abuse in Bassetlaw, Mansfield and Newark and Sherwood are supported throughout this time which promotes health and safety in the widest sense.

NWAL are adapting their practice in accordance with COVID-19 government guidelines and with the support of our Public Health, Nottinghamshire County Council and Office of Police and Crime Commissioner leads to ensure that support can continue safely.

NWAL have put a plan in place which safeguards our community which includes our partners, professionals and survivors.

Our counselling service has closed temporarily as it is face to face support (this is separate to the NWAL specialist domestic abuse support work).

We are currently not running group programmes or face to face work, instead we are increasing our phone contact. We are still accepting referrals for all services.

NWAL have a remote working plan and so staff will not be at co-location sites at this time.

We wanted to ensure everyone that that key mechanisms in regards to domestic abuse are still in practice including;

· MARAC (Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference)

· IDVA (Independent Domestic Violence Advocates) services

· Refuges

· Domestic abuse support for children, young people and adults

Please be aware that If you have any questions, please let us know by emailing [email protected] or ringing the Farr Centre on 01909 533610 please contact between 9-5 Monday – Friday.

We have informed all service users we are working with in regards to our current operating procedures.

Please be aware that JUNOs domestic abuse helpline is still operating 24 hours a day
