Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid Limited is a specialist commissioned domestic abuse support provider. We deliver high quality free support to women, children, young people and teenagers through North Nottinghamshire.

Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid Limited is successful due to the many different roles within the organisation.

When we have an employment opportunity, we recruit in one of two ways:

1 – Advertising through web based job sites such as Indeed. We will have current jobs on this website page and will share opportunities through our social media platforms.

2 – We will set up a recruitment drive, these will be advertised through this website page as well as on social media and are organised through Eventbrite.

The recruitment drive means you can:

Come and meet NWAL senior managers who will;

· Brief you on the amazing job opportunities and ethos of Nottinghamshire Womens Aid.

· Provide you with a one to one session to support you to progress to the next step, this could be interview, or possible volunteer opportunities with us.

· You do not have to fill in application form, you just have to come to this event.

We are looking for women who are interested in:

· Supporting survivors of domestic abuse within our ethos.

· Have a basic understanding and awareness of domestic abuse

· Not been in NWAL / domestic abuse support services for at least 2 years

· Able to work across North Nottinghamshire, Bassetlaw, Mansfield and Newark and Sherwood

Female Independent Domestic Violence Advocate – Temporary Maternity Cover

The successful person will provide a pro-active service to female victims of domestic abuse. To respond to and provide practical & emotional support, safety planning and early intervention where it has been determined there is high or very high risk or where it has been agreed the victim is in need of IDVA support. A full driving licence and use of a car is essential.

Female Court Independent Domestic Violence Advocate – Temporary Maternity Cover

The role will provide a pro-active service to female survivors of domestic abuse whose criminal cases are being heard at the SDVC site which is at the Mansfield Magistrates Court. To respond to and provide practical & emotional support, safety planning and early intervention to ensure that the survivor receives support in regards to her dual role of being survivor and a witness.

Must have a full driving license and access to own vehicle.

Female Domestic Abuse Housing Liaison Worker

The post holder will provide specialist domestic abuse support to women who live within the Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid Ltd (NWAL) geographical boundaries and have a housing need due to domestic abuse. The support includes survivor interventions from the point of contact with the Housing Department, until survivor is placed in safe accommodation. The support will be survivor led and will involve emotional and practical support in regards to the impact created by domestic abuse, this incudes risk assessing safety and looking at security options available, such as the Sanctuary Scheme. The post holder will provide support and advice to Housing Staff and develop improved pathways between services, giving better housing options for survivors and their children. The post holder must work closely with the service user, colleagues and partner agencies to ensure a co-ordinated response to women’s support needs.
