Tell me more…

Coproduction is an equal partnership where people with lived and learnt experience come together to have a voice and to be heard.

The project offers a safe and non judgemental space for you to share your thoughts and ideas to inform future support delivery in Nottinghamshire

Who is the project for?

Nottinghamshire Women’s Aid wants to work with all survivors of domestic abuse. There are also sessions for children and young people.

What does the project do?

We are particularly interested in hearing from you about;

the barriers you experienced
where you looked for support
where you got support
what support you had
what you think needs to be put in place in the future for others experiencing domestic abuse.

You will be invited to;

groups (online or in the local community)

and /or

one to one sessions (online,face to face in the local community or by phone)

Our aim is survivor voice to be amplified and to be the core of an academic report.

To say thank you for your participation we provide £20 gift vouchers for anyone who takes part in the project

This report will be shared with different professional boards that have influence on the domestic abuse sector as well as statutory services.

 Topics being covered in sessions are;

  • Safe Accommodation
  • Children and Young People
  • Health and Care Services
  • High Risk Survivors and the MARAC
  • Prevention and Promotion

We will ensure you will also have the opportunity and safe space to voice anything you want to input.

Am I ready to take part in this project?

What happens if start the project and I get upset and need support?

We understand that talking about traumatic experiences and feelings will have an impact on you, the way we have created the project ensures that the positive elements of coproduction work such as;

Empowerment
Feelings of being believed and listened to
Feeling part of a community which affects positive change for alot of people

are highly likely outcomes for you.

We are to support you no matter how you are feeling, if you become upset and want support there is an experienced support worker on hand during and after the sessions. They will give you the time and support you need in the moment and then refer or signpost you onto local services if you feel you need additional support.
