Freedom Programme
What does it do?
The Freedom Programme is delivered all across the UK and was created by Pat Craven to support survivors of domestic abuse and violence.
The Freedom Programme identifies the roles played by attitudes and beliefs on the actions of abusive men and the responses of women victims and survivors. The aim is to help women who have experienced or are experiencing domestic violence to make sense of and understand what has happened to them, and understand that the perpetrator is to blame for the abuse.
The Freedom Programme is 10 weeks long or a little shorter if delivered virtually. It is run by specialist trained workers in both the Freedom Programme and supporting domestic abuse.
The Freedom Programme is run all the time in the three districts; Bassetlaw, Mansfield and Newark and Sherwood. You can attend either a face to face programme or virtually.
You can self refer on to the Freedom Programme or a professional may refer on your behalf with your consent.
You can come to the group if you have experienced domestic abuse in the past or currently. We sometimes have crèche facilities.
If you are interested in the freedom programme please complete the referral form that can be found on our website or contact the Farr Centre.
